Bayliner boats

Bayliner was founded in 1957 in the United States, near Seattle. Orin Edson built the company by selling used boats, and it switched to fibreglass boatbuilding in the second half of the 1960s. Since 1986, the brand has been part of the Brunswick group, which also includes Mercury engines and Quicksilver boats.

Bayliner is known for affordable, easy-to-handle family motorboats. The emphasis is on spacious, practical cockpits and easy trailering, while its high-volume production models are also well known on the used boat market. This makes them a popular choice for first-time boat buyers.

Electric Bayliner: GreenCruzer

Bayliner models leave the factory with internal combustion engines. Their electric versions are built in Hungary by Budapest-based GreenCruzer: the Hungarian brand fits Bayliner hulls with electric propulsion using motors from Slovenian manufacturer Piktronik. This allows these proven, mass-produced family boats to be used on Lake Balaton, where only electrically powered motorboats are permitted for recreational use.

Our Bayliner boats

We have two electric Bayliners in stock. The E5 is a 5,5-metre open family day cruiser from the Element series with a 48 V battery-powered drive; according to the seller, it offers 4–10 hours of cruising at touring speed. The VR6 Cuddy is a 7,6-metre day cruiser with a small forward cabin, bow thruster, electric anchor windlass and bimini, powered by a 10 kW motor and a 10 kWh battery. Its 2,45 m beam makes it easy to trailer.

You can find more family boats for day trips on the day cruiser page.
